Getting there & around - Alexandria

To get to Alexandria, you can travel by air, arriving at Borg El Arab Airport (HBE). This modern complex replaces the Nouzha, the former airport. The airlines that operate here are Lufthansa, Emirates, British Airways and BMED, in addition to the national line: EgyptAir.

Borg El Arab is located southwest of the city, connected to the center by 25 km of paved road. The path can either be travelled by bus or car, although it is more advisable to book a package tour in the place of origin to ensure that those who will lead you to Alexandria.

The best thing to do is walk through the streets of downtown, Alexandria, but you need to use to transport more than once. Not to be missed travel tram (about 5 cents), which usually have a coach for women - blue tram is reserved for women only. A walk in the Corniche of Alexandria is unforgettable (about 2 € per hour, but must be negotiated). For longer journeys you should take a taxi, although again it is better speaking the price before getting on a taxi.
