| Spotlight on South Africa |
What to do: Discover a variety of climates, awe-inspiring safari parks, a stunning coastline, fertile vineyards and a colourful variety of wild flowers along the fabled garden route. Unmisable: This has to be a safari. You can't come to South Africa and not see the 'Big Five' - lion, leopard elephant, rhino and buffalo. Local Flavour: There is a renaissance of 'soul food' in South Africa and, with dishes such as morogo (a stew made with spinach and other wild leaves) giving you a taste of local cuisine. Getting around: Competition has reduced fares on domestic flights in South Africa. Luxury coaches and private transfers are a good way to get around too, though to get everywhere at your own pace you are best to hire a car. |
