Birthplace of the skyscraper, Playboy, McDonald’s and the Mars Bar, as well as urban blues and house music, Chicago is everyone’s kind of town, at any time of the year. On the shores of massive Lake Michigan, the ‘Windy City’, has a wealth of striking architecture, including some of the world’s tallest buildings and several renowned museums and galleries. You’ll get a bird’s eye view of the city from the observation deck of the Sears Tower, whilst Navy Pier offers a great range of attractions for all age groups, including IMAX Theatre and Children’s Museum. Amongst fascinating exhibits at the Field Museum of Natural History is the largest TRex ever found and at the Shedd Oceanarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium, 19,000 aquatic creatures provide hours of fascination.

Chicago has much to offer the shopper, with the Magnificent Mile boasting fashionable boutiques and big-name stores. Marshall Fields, on State Street, is the world's second largest department store, with more than 500 brands spread over 10 storeys, whilst out of town, malls like Woodfield and Gurnee Mills will appeal to the bargain hunter.

Perhaps one of the best features of Chicago is its stunning architecture. It is home of museums and attractions including famous Chicago Theater, it is also a vibrant travel destination. Not enough? Try blues and jazz clubs, glorious parks, lavish shopping, the greatest of restaurants… from deep-dish pizza and hot dogs to exotic food. Not enough? Try standing on a bridge over the Chicago River; see Wrigley Building or shop along Michigan Ave. Chicago has it all and just a right vacation place.
