Boquete is a beautiful valley in the highlands of Chiriquí province, in the green hills of western Panama.
If to escape from the heat of the lowlands go into the highlands of Boquete, the land of flowers and coffee. Boquete offers variety of hiking in the forest-rich environment. In the sunshine, it is amazingly pleasant.
There are plenty of hiking trails in Boquete. Some of the best spots for hiking include the Bajo Mono Trail, the Rio Caldera, the Camino de los Quetzales, or the Parque Nacional Volcan de Baru.
Some of coffee tours including Cafe Ruiz, Cafe Kotowa and Café Suárez are the unique opportunity to visit their coffee plantations.
From here, Caldera is also easy to be reached, the place with hot springs. The thermal springs are "natural", without infrastructure, and is about 30 minutes walking distance from Caldera. Beside it the Rio Caldera flows directly and loads for bathing in the cool water. It is also worth trying horseback riding in Caldera.
Best time to travel Boquete is from January to May, the heyday of the orchids. That's the time of the Feria de las Flores y del Café. Boquete's annual Flower and Coffee Fair.
