Founded in 1850 under the name Al-Bida, the capital of Qatar, Doha is the heart of the country which hosted the Asian Games in 2006. Located on the Persian Gulf, built on a bay, Doha now has a 7 km long Corniche which houses Museum of Islamic Arts, and is the most attractive area of Qatar's capital city.
